Why Tele-therapy?

Flexible therapy through virtual platforms.

As therapists, we saw a gap in services being provided to rural areas (& even some metropolitan areas) in Alberta to children with developmental disabilities and their families. Many people have limited access to therapy services due to where they may live. We have also found that the systems in place within their community might be overwhelmed resulting in long waitlists. We would like to fill this gap, even just a little, as we know that Early Intervention is key to life-long growth and development for children with diverse needs.

What we offer...

We are not a agency, but rather a group of private affiliated multi-disciplinary therapists (MDT) that work well together, and would like to offer our services in-whole or in-part based on your family's needs. Many of our services can be funded through the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program (https://www.alberta.ca/fscd) or insurance/ benefit coverage.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists (OT) supports children with gaining life skills so they can become more independent in their daily routines. These skills include: self-care, fine motor, sensory regulation, and executive functioning skills. OT's are skilled in looking at individuals from a holistic lens to see all the factors that impact their ability to do those activities that are most meaningful to them.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy (PT) plays an important role in teaching your child to move and use their body in a functional way. To encourage confidence through play and exploration. What this might look like; developing strength, range of motion, balance & proprioception, learning functional skills such as bike riding, sport specific skills, and gross motor play.

Speech Language Therapy

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) specialize in helping individuals with various communication challenges. If your child has difficulty producing speech sounds, understanding others, expressing themselves, socializing, or using cognitive communication skills, an SLP can identify areas needing support and provide targeted intervention to assist in improving these skills.

Psychology

Psychology works on areas related to your child's behaviours (e.g. emotional regulation), play & social development (e.g making friends, getting along with siblings), and cognitive skills (e.g. learning about safety, problem-solving, & addressing challenges in executive functioning). They also actively support resilience (e.g. emotional literacy, confidence building, developing a growth mindset, etc.).

Behavioural Aide

A behavioural aide can support your child with their therapy goals between therapy sessions. They can also be there during therapy sessions to help encourage and support your child with learning new skills. If you choose to go with our team, in part or whole, we will commit to helping you find an in-person aide in your area to implement strategies.
